Periodontology

Periodontology is a branch of dentistry that examines the structure of the soft (periodontal ligament, gum) and hard tissues (bone, cement) surrounding the teeth, the diseases occurring in these tissues and the treatment of these diseases.

The healthy gingiva is rose pink and wraps the teeth tightly. If your gums are unhealthy, you may lose your teeth one day even if your teeth are not decayed.

Why is tartar formed?

In cases where the bacterial plaque cannot be removed from the tooth surface, the formation of a tartar  can be seen on the tooth surface. It is formed as a result of hardening of the plaque, which is initially soft, by the precipitation of minerals in saliva.

You can not brush them away from your teeth. However, your dentist can remove it without damaging your teeth with suitable ultrasonic tools designed for dental cleaning.

Tartar cleaning does not harm the teeth. It is even the most useful, fastest, most comfortable and cheapest procedure you can do for your mouth. In addition, you can prevent many mouth and dental problems by performing regular cleaning.
