Gum Treatment

Healthy gums do not bleed. If you experience bleeding while brushing your teeth, eating hard foods or if you have a bleeding gum that occurs spontaneously, you should contact your dentist immediately. There is probably inflammation in your gums. Also bad bad breath is a harbinger of inflammation.

Cleansing the teeth and providing optimum oral hygiene is the first step of the treatments for all gum diseases. Treatment can be supported by antibiotic use and continued with surgical treatments, depending on the degree of disease progression.

If the disease has only affected the gums, it may be enough to clean the teeth and ensure good oral hygiene. Tartar cleaning is the process of removing tartar, plaque and colorations that accumulate on the tooth surface with the help of special tools and should be done every 6 months even in healthy mouths.

In cases where the disease has advanced, “Curettage” may be required. While cleaning the root surface by entering into the pocket during dental cleaning, the gingival tissue of the same pocket is cleaned during the curettage process. This process can be done using conventional methods using hand tools or laser-assisted methods (WPT).

Surgical interventions may be necessary for gingiva if there is a severe loss of bone in the advanced stages of gum disease. At this stage, laser-assisted surgeries can be performed as an alternative to traditional methods.
